For all you haters, I’m white and am fluent in Spanish. In today’s hostile America where anyone who ain’t white or English speaking easily becomes a target for ****.

  • Why do you decide that all white people are alike? Just because you’ve run into a few idiots doesn’t mean everybody feels the same way. Being bigoted against white people is no better than being bigoted regarding any other group, and the fact that YOU are white doesn’t change that in the least.

  • We are not scared nor **** as you say….What we don’t want is to have our language taken away..I don’t want to push 1 for English…Why should I…This is an English speaking country…Do I have to push 1 for Spanish in Mexico…

Many foreigners have come to America throughout history and learned our language…Only the Spanish have refused and outright demanded their foreign language be spoken………If I was in Mexico I expect to hear Spanish..and I would not demand that English be spoken or written just because I chose to go there…I would think that people who come to our country would show some respect and learn our language…And if not at least not whine and demand theirs be spoken instead… ….

Your accusation of calling White American’s haters is just a cheap shot at trying to make us appear as prejudiced….When actually your question in its self contains prejudice and hatred of White Americans…

When the Spanish came to America, they knew we spoke English…Why are they acting so suprised and angry that we want to keep our language and cultures.

When in Rome do as the Romans do…Plain and simple…

  • aren’t spanish people white?? i taught they were, the ones i knew were whiter than me (i’m jewish).

  • “white” people…..?? OH..you mean “Caucasian”…….
Scared? Naw, there is NO fear…..NONE…NADA….
Spanish language isn’t a reason to be “scared”…..but
the language does create FRUSTRATION when good,
hardworking Americans (of ALL races, culture, and breed)
are confronted with demanding, illegal mexicans that have
NO respect for the country they are in.
The United States of America is a country that was
formed on English speaking standards…and for that
reason, if you LIVE here, LEARN ENGLISH.
When I go to Mexico or Spain, I learn to say phrases
    in Spanish.
When I go to India, I learn to speak the Indian words
    necessary to communicate.
When you come to the USA……BE AN ADVOCATE
OF ENGLISH AND HARD WORKING VALUES…..
when the Spanish speaking people do that….Americans
will stop being so FRUSTRATED…….AND ANGRY.
But believe me…..THERE IS NO FEAR, Johnny…and
you can mark that as PERIOD.

  • I don’t get scared. I just don’t like hearing Spanish at a official governement location. If you don’t know English hire a Translator, don’t force Americans to learn Spanish because of your refusal to learn English.

  • Spanish speakers and English speakers are widely found among mant races/ethnicities, Sherlock.

  • Kypi:

because it has about fourhundred million tenses. (not really… but it has way to many).
Im spanish and im taking spanish in school and hope to become fluent eventually. >_> too many tenses.. i cant even keep the 6 english ones strait

  • Well, the last time I checked I was white, and I am not scared when I am confronted with the Spanish language.
Regarding the second line, you can add anyone who is not protestant.
To blend in the usa you must be WASP ( White Anglo Saxon Protestant )

  • There are people from all over the world living here in the U.S., hundreds of languages spoken at home and among friends. Only Spanish is being pushed to have equal status with English. Why? What makes Spanish speaking immigrants better than Hindi speakers? Cantonese or Mandarin speakers? I don’t fear Spanish, I just feel that it shouldn’t be treated any differently than all of the other languages brought to this country by immigrants. Speak it at home but learn the common langauge of English. It’s what our road signs are written in! It’s also what our constitution and declaration of independance were wriiten in. It’s the language of our history and our identity, and we shouldn’t be ashamed of standing up for it.
