no. illegal immigration has been happening for decades, even before we became more spanish friendly.
the real cause and motivation for illegal immigration is the lack of upward mobility in the countries of illegal immigrants and ecomonic opportuinty here in the US

I am learning Spanish and I think it is a poetic language.
Of course it encourages illegal aliens.
As proficiency in English is a REQUIREMENT for US citizenship, the is no reason, other than to cater to illegal aliens, for Spanish to be pervasive in America. That it is is only more proof that big business is catering to illegal aliens. This is a practice that should be halted NOW.
I refuse to patronize products and establishments that advertise, package, or conduct business in Spanish.
It sure makes it easier for them to STAY and to use services that they shouldn’t have access to.
It does. And some States are considering stopping it. Oklahoma already has. I work for the City and we spend $140,000 on Spanish signs in the Parks and Recreation areas alone. Signs aren’t cheap.
Las Vegas is now filling up with Hispanic businesses. Von’s, Lucky’s, Albertson’s, have all closed some but a few here. Now it is “Mercado, LLantera, Carneceria, and Jose’ Hogg’s Bars, to name a few. It’s sickening. I can’t even find American foods anymore without driving miles to a good store.

I don’t know that it is encouraging illegal immigration but I think its sure making it easier for them to be here, its terrible the way our country is bending over backward to make it easy and comfortable for illegal immigrants to enter and remain here and receive more government benefits than legal citizens. I have noticed food packaging is now in spanish and advertising in the paper is also in spanish, this upsets me greatly, this is America, not Spain or Mexico. When my grandparents came here from Sicily they learned how to speak English and became American Citizens, were very proud to be citizens of this country. There were no items written in Italian to make their life easier, with these large companys doing out of their way so that the Mexican people can read their products, what is the incentive for them to learn English..none..
I have called some companies regarding their use of Spanish on their products and told them that as long as they continue to do that, I will not buy their products that this is America, not Mexico and if they can’t tell a can of corn by looking at the picture, thats their problem and if we went into any other ethnic store you can bet your boots they will only have the writing in that language and not in English. I suggest to everyone who comes across a product with Spanish on it to call that company and complain and boycott that same company, better yet, write to them, always better than a phone call.
It is encouraging them, they know as long as spanish is spoken, they won’t stand out as much. They also use this as an excuse for not assimilating as the laws state. It helps when they get caught, then they just use the excuse “no understand”.
