  • nona:

    ¿? Signos de interrogación.

    ¡ ! Signos de exclamación.

    Sorry, I don’t know about the laptop…

  • They are called “inverted” exclamation/question marks.

If you are using Windows, search for “Character Map” and you will find them included. Alternatively, turn on the number pad on the right hand side of the Keyboard, hold down Alt and type 0191 for ¿ or 0161 for ¡.

Another possibility would be for you to save my answer and copy and paste the marks when you need to use them.

  • question marks = signos de interrogación
excamation marks = signos de admiración

I don;t know how can you get them on your laptop
I use the windows “character map”

  • it’s from wikianswers so:

Q:How do you type inverted question mark in aol im?

A:You can type it on an English keyboard by holding alt and typing 0191, 168, or 5544 on the number pad.

    hope it helps :)

  • Here are some common characters keyboard shortcuts for windows:

Hold down the alt (option) and type in the number (in brackets, example: 168) on the keypad located to the right of the keyboard. Let go of the alt button and the character will appear.

    ¿ [alt + 168]
    á [alt + 160]
    é [alt + 130]
    í [alt + 161]
    ó [alt + 162]
    ú [alt + 163]
    ñ [alt + 164]

    Nice question,
There is some debate on the name of the marks. Some claim it should be “signo de interrogación” others “punto de interrogación”. Personally I go with the first.
As to how the first sign is called, some call it “inicial/final” others “de apertura/cierre”

This will give you most of the codes
