quick spanish sentence question?

How come certain words go after another for example. “cual es tu pelicula favorito?” why does pelicula(movie) go after favorito(favorite)? In Spanish, adjectives usually go after the noun. So whenever you say “adjective noun” in English, it’s probably “noun adjective” in Spanish.
For example, “red book” -> “libro rojo”
“big dog” -> “perro grande”
“younger sister” -> “hermana menor”
In Spanish, when you’re describing a noun, the adjective goes after it. In English, the structure is opposite: adj. then noun
Ex: ‘a red (adj.) apple (noun)’, in spanish would be: ‘una manzana (noun) roja (adj.)’
It’s not just certain sentences. It’s for whenever you’re describing a noun w/ an adjective.
It’ll seem pretty natural to you eventually.
Randy P’s answer just about sums it up – just to point out that it;s “película favorita” (not “favorito”), since “película” is a feminine noun.
I say the same question, when I study English! We say “in English is all backwards”! XD
In Spanish, first we say the noun.
The phrase is “¿Cuál (don’t forget the accent) es tu película favorita (“película” is a feminine noun, so we use “a”)?
Note: We use the question mark at the first and in the end of the senteces!
