What is the best way to learn Spanish without living in a Spanish speaking country?
I am learning Spanish by listening to tapes in my car, using programs on the computer, but none of them give me the “real world” conversation or interaction practice that I am looking for.
I already know that the best way is to live in a Spanish speaking country to learn it, but was hoping for other solutions as I can not do this.
Does anyone know a good way acquire practice through interaction, whether it be with live people or some kind of software?

What are some really good books that help learning the Spanish language?
I am already fluent in Spanish, but I lack the comprehension of common slang, and common phrases that one would hear living in a Spanish speaking world. Are there any good books for this? Please do not tell me about 501 verbs in Spanish or some Spanish dictionary, I would like titles of books that tells the “real” Spanish that is spoken outside of grammar texts produced in the United States.

What’s the most popular Spanish-language tech blog?
I’m learning Spanish, and I need something interesting to help me practice reading. I’d prefer to read a blog about software development or open-source programming, but any technology topics would be good. I’d prefer an individual’s blog over an organization’s, and I’d like a native Spanish-language blog over an extension of an English-language tech blog (such as Engadget Español). Thanks for your help!

What is the best way to quickly learn Spanish?
I need to learn Spanish by October. I am going to live in Peru for eight weeks then and although I am assured that I’ll learn quickly when I’m there, I really would like to learn as much Spanish before then.
What is the best way to achive this. I currently Don’t speak a word and have been studying French for the last year. I was considering a SPanish speaking course in Spain during my summer holidays. But until then does anyone have any ideas on how best to start, and start quickly.
Oh, I’m currently in med school and time is limited too, not happy unless I have a challenge lol.
