My friends are Filipino and when they speak to each other in their language I hear tons of spanish words. Some of them were really inappropriate at the table we were eating at in the restaurant they brought me to. Why are there spanish words? I can understand Spanish by the way.

I understand a lot. When my husband is talking to his friends i know almost every word they are saying and i can even tell you a lot of words in spanish. I just have trouble putting the words together to say what i want to say. I am also afraid of saying something wrong. I really want to learn Spanish and I’ve gotten into learning more than I ever had before.
My friends are all fluent in Spanish & English and they talk to me in Spanish all the time (commands, questions, etc.). Sometimes I understand, sometimes I don’t. Whenever I have a question on how to say something, I ask, but I want to get farther than that.
