How Hard is AP Spanish Language?

spanish language
Jeremy asked:

Hello all,
I am taking AP Spanish Language 4 this year, and wanted to get an idea of how hard it is. I am not a native speaker, but have received an “A” semester in Spanish 1-3. I am confident with reading and writing/grammar, but not as much with speaking. Based off of this, how hard do you think the course and AP test will be?
Thanks!

Active Spanish lessons with passive Japanese learning?

spanish language lessons
Revolutionary asked:

Hello, hello

I am a high school student on summer vacation, who happens to love learning new languages. The two languages I know most are Spanish and Japanese.

I have been studying Spanish longer and know more Spanish people (Though I am not near any hispanic populations at the moment where I am visiting) but I have a very high interest in japanese because of my goals to study and work there.

Would it be a good idea to continue learning spanish through computer programs (I have a few) while passively picking up japanese through the anime I watch and switching my video game setting to a Japanese language setting (there is no spanish setting)

Is it ok to actively learn one language, while passively being exposed to another?
I don’t have the luxury to take formal lessons

Latin, Spanish, or Mandarin as a high school language?

Spanish Language Lessons
Tammy asked:

Hello all,
I have recently come across a problem in my acedemic path. I am in eighth grade and I have just completed Latin 1. Next year I will be in highschool. I had planned to finish Latin during the next two years for it to count as my highschool language. However, there is a new program at my school where you study either Chinese or Spanish for four years straight. You even get the chance to study in one of the country that speaks the language you chose. The teachers discuss the different lessons and help you to suceed in all AP classes. My question is: is it worth it to stop taking Latin? If I do not take Latin this year, it will count as an elective credit but not a language credit. If I stop taking Latin, which language would be most useful? Please give me your advice.
Thank you so much
-Tammy
